The Department of Language Studies offers a series of four ESL workshops designed for individuals who work or plan to work with young adult and adult students whose native language is not English. Participants who satisfactorily complete all four workshops for academic credit will receive certificates of completion. The certificate does not meet the requirements for the Illinois ESL/ bilingual education approval for certified teachers. Workshops may be used as electives in a variety of NLU programs (such as the M.Ed. in ESL/BE). Please check with your advisor.
The ESL Practitioner Workshops are held at the Chicago Campus, 122 S. Michigan Ave in Chicago unless indicated otherwise.
All workshops take place from 9:30am - 4:30pm. The schedule for Summer 2009 - Spring 2010 is posted below.
