- Via the web:
- Visit the NLU portal and log-in using your usual NLU username and password.
- You will find a link under NLU Resources to Schedule Advising Appointment.
- Once on the appointment scheduling system, you will first select if you would like your appointment to be in-person or by phone.
- If you select an in-person appointment, you should then select an advisor at your campus. If your appointment will be by phone, any advisor at any campus could meet with you.
- You can view the availability for advisors, and then select your day and time. Please be sure to follow all steps until you finally click "Make Appointment".
- You will receive an e-mail confirming your appointment
- Via the phone:

When should you see an academic advisor?
Academic advisors will be available for appointments by phone and in-person. You should schedule an appointment with an advisor whenever you need assistance with your academic program at NLU. Among the most common reasons that students see us are:

- To check on progress towards graduation, and work together to design an Academic Action Plan to plan how you can complete all of your requirements and obtain your degree as quickly as possible.
- To learn more about university resources for help both in and out of the classroom.
- To learn more about the various majors that NLU offers and learn more about the specific requirements for each.
- To discuss course selection for an upcoming term.
- To discuss your transfer credits.
- Anything else to help you achieve success at NLU!
