Career Counseling
Career Counseling is available to current students and alumni of National-Louis University for free. Oftentimes, it is difficult for students and alumni to clearly define their career goals and devise a strategy for obtaining them. The Office of Career Services is dedicated to providing career guidance in the midst of so many options. The Office of Career Services does not offer placement services. We have a system called the Virtual Career Network which connects students and alumni to employers with open jobs.

Interviewing Help
The Office of Career Services can give you tips for a successful interview. We also provide the Perfect Interview, interview simulation module. With Perfect Interview, you can choose from a number or different interview scenarios and view the interview questions, examples of appropriate answers, and brief tutorials (the "Coach") that explains why the question is being asked and suggest strategies for answering them. You may borrow a webcam from Career Services to that you may video record your answers. This way, you will be able to assess your interview strengths and weaknesses. To access the Perfect Interview, log on to the Virtual Career Network (VCN) and click Perfect Interview on your VCN homepage.
Assessments
Several assessments are available free of charge through the Office of Career Services. These assessments can provide valuable information about interests and skills in regards to choosing both a major and a career. Contact us if you would like to schedule an appointment to take one or learn more about them on our site.
In connection with NaceLink, the Office of Career Services provides access to national job listings posted by employers interested in students from NLU. To find these postings, log on to www.nluvirtualcareernetwork.net. Create a profile and upload your resume. With an uploaded resume, you will be able to apply to positions directly from the system.
