Welcome to FAFSA

To be considered for federal, state, and institutional need-based programs, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a need-analysis form. The Department of Education (DOE) then evaluates the information you have provided, calculates your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), and determines your eligibility for student aid.

Regardless of whether or not you think you are eligible to receive aid, you are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA.

  • Federal Pell Grant
  • Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) MAP Grant
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
  • Student-to-Student Grant

Your NLU Financial Aid Advisor will be happy to help you with any questions you may have about applying for loans from the federal government to help cover the cost of your NLU education. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to file your application online.
