The Special Education programs at National-Louis University are dedicated to preparing our students to become exemplary special educators, leaders, and lifelong learners in increasingly diverse and complex professional roles in schools. Faculty are committed to developing and implementing broadbased, comprehensive, current, innovative curriculum. Our focus on theoretical knowledge and process results in bridging theory and practice; and is the essence of our departmental philosophy. We believe in collaborative reform between general and special education, as well as in collaborative teaching models. We are guided by the premise that students with special needs have the right to equal opportunity to live and learn in the general education community.
